" I recently attended an Eric Wilson workshop and found the day a invaluable experience watching and
learning techniques from one of England foremost leading pastel artists catering for all abilities, a highly
recommend day, you will wonder were the hours went. (And the food is good too.)"

Would you like to learn how to paint wildlife? Perhaps I can help you.
I offer exclusive one to one private tuition in pastel, oils or acrylics. It has taken me a lifetime to master the
secrets of such things as rendering fur accurately or capturing an animals expression or mood. It has been a long
road for me but it doesn't have to be a long road for you. I can help you get there a lot quicker by sharing with
you all that I have learned. I genuinely enjoy teaching and at this stage in my career I am happy to help others
and to encourage a new generation of Wildlife Artists to produce new and exciting work.
I tell each student I have that the day is to be 'their' day and I will tailor make each day to suit the individuals
specific needs. From complete beginner to professional, working in oils, acrylics or pastels I will work with you
and do all I can to improve your work. I offer advice and will demonstrate exactly how I put my own work
together by working on a painting and explaining the techniques I am using as I go along.
I hold these tuition days at my studio in Stockport, South of Manchester, England. My price for a full days
private tuition is £175 with lunch included.
If you are interested please contact me to arrange a mutually convenient date for your lesson.
Below you will find some photographs from previous tuition days and some testimonials from my students.
"Eric. Thank you so much for a wonderful day. It was a privilege to meet you, see your fantastic paintings and
have the experience of seeing you work. I feel I have learnt so much. You are such a generous, understanding and
thoughtful tutor and you were so keen to make it my day. I appreciated your helpful comments about my own
abilities and you have given me the confidence to move onwards and upwards. Your hospitality was exceptional
and so generous. It was certainly an experience I shall never forget."
David Fossey, U.K.
"Just wanted to drop you a note to say thank-you once again for yesterday.
It was very kind of you to share with me some of your techniques and knowledge and to give me so much
advice on such a wide variety of things. I was very nervous about the day initially but you were extremely
welcoming and made it very easy and enjoyable for me. I feel that I have gained a huge amount from the day,
(including perhaps a little bit more confidence and self belief in my own abilities!), and I am excited at the
prospect of putting some of this newly acquired advice/knowledge into practice. Being in your studio and
seeing the amazing work that you produce was a real privilege and inspiration!
Please extend my thanks again to Karin for the warm welcome, delicious meal and lemon meringue pie! and I
wish you both all the very best of luck for the imminent arrival of baby Wilson!
Thank-you once again,
my very best wishes."

A lunchtime break for students David and Joanne.
A recent tuition day with David Fossey. David was
specifically interested in how to render fur more
accurately in acrylics and asked me to demonstrate
how I paint a tiger from start to finish.
