Red Squirrels have been declining in the forests of the British Isles since the
introduction of it's North American cousin, the grey squirrel in 1876.
Red Squirrels inhabit deciduous woodland, favouring the mature Scots pine
forests of the Scottish Glens.
Without concerted conservation efforts we could lose the beautiful Red
Squirrels from the British Isles altogether.
