With this painting I wanted to portray a lion whose face embodied all that a
lion should be: Bold, fearless, majestic, regal and wise. In addition to these
qualities I wanted the painting to be more than just a simple portrait, I
wanted to capture the atmosphere of the African bush as the sun goes
down, the hot glow lingering in the dust. It is time for this beautiful animal
to hunt, for he is the 'Night Hunter'
This painting is an acrylic on canvas, the first I have done in a while, and it
went so well that I feel there will be a lot more to follow.
