I named this painting African Gold not only because of the colours here, but also to make reference
to the fact that the wildlife of Africa is probably it's greatest asset, more valuable even than the gold
in it's mines.
Wildlife and the beauty of the natural world has a special value which I believe will increase in the
future as the human population spreads. People will always want to see wild and untamed Africa,
it's one of those things on everyone's 'must do' list, and as long as these great treasures are
protected, Africa has a ready made and thriving tourist industry that will serve it well for the future.
If neglected and destroyed however, Africa and with it the human spirit throughout the world, will
suffer tremendously.
