The cheetah is the worlds fastest land mammal,reaching speeds of over 60 miles per hour to catch it's prey. The
preferred species being Gazelle and Impala. It is extremely specialized and has sacrificed strength for all out speed.
This makes the cheetah very vulnerable on the competitive plains of Africa. Cheetah have to be very careful once
they have caught their prey as they can easily lose it and sometimes their own lives to bigger fiercer predators like
lions, leopards and even hyenas.
In this painting a cheetah has made a kill and on the wind it has just detected an unwelcome scent. The scent of Lions.
