The wolf still has the greatest natural range of any living mammal
except man. Quite amazing, considering that man has treated it as a
threat throughout history. It is one of nature's great survivors and
deserves our respect.
The background to this painting is actually Scotland, where
unfortunately the wolf was exterminated in the 1700's. I chose this
location because the wolf belongs there, and hopefully one day he
will return.
