Ruckomechi is located on the western boundry of Zimbabwe's Mana Pools National Park,
seen in the distance.
Ruckomechi offers a great combination of scenic beauty and excellent game viewing.

Aquatic species such as hippo and crocodile appear in abundance, and the river attracts
large numbers of elephant and buffalo. The Ruckomechi area is also home to the valleys
highest concentration of predators.
Here I have painted a very typical Ruckomechi scene. In the winter dry season a buffalo
rests in what is known as a 'pan' Yellow-billed oxpeckers rid him of insects. A zebra drinks
from under the shade of an acacia tree where a fish eagle sits, observing everything.
