Chimpanzee group in the Kaibab national forest, Burundi. I have many happy memories observing the wild chimps this beautiful
rainforest. The father in this group (left) was feeling decidedly sorry for himself, he had just chastised the baby who had run to the
arms of its mother. The old grandmother sitting behind her had in turn chastised the father, who was now sulking. We share more
than DNA with our closest relatives.
